We watched the sunset at La Playa, a hidden little beach in Point Loma. Josh showed up with pizza from The Bronx, convinced he was introducing her to the best New York-style pizza in San Diego. Aline let him have his moment—until the end of the date, when she finally told him she had been eating there for years. From then on, Josh was on a mission to impress Aline with new spots. He hasn’t quite succeeded… but she appreciates the effort.

Some of our favorite memories included the important stuff — like adopting our dog Lola (who was clearly in charge from day one) and eating way too many s'mores around bonfires with friends. We perfected backyard movie nights, got slightly lost camping, and ordered sushi in more times than we could count. From opening blind boxes, screaming our lungs out on rollercoasters, endless rematches of Ticket to Ride, to exploring new countries, life together was one big, hilarious adventure — and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. 

 Experiencing Japan during cherry blossom season was #1 on Aline's bucket list. They spent an amazing three weeks exploring everything Japan had to offer. Josh had been waiting for the cherry blossoms to be in full bloom, which didn’t happen until the end of their trip—unfortunately, during some rainy weather. Finally, the day before they left, it was perfectly sunny. At Koishikawa Botanical Gardens, surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms and almost no one else, Josh proposed—making the moment unforgettable.
